If you are 50 years of age or older, the 127 Senior Center invites you to become a member and join in the fun! Friday morning meetings start with the doors opening at 8 a.m. for coffee and fellowship, games, or just chatting and catching up with old friends and making new ones. Visitors are greeted by two of the friendliest ladies you will ever meet — Diane and Betty, and they will fill you in on everything you need to know about the center, and then introduce you to some new friends.
Bingo is from 9:30 to 10:30. The members wish to thank Buc-ee’s for sponsoring bingo prizes at the last meeting.
After bingo, President Arlene Simmons presides over a short meeting to let the members know of upcoming events. She always asks members if they have any announcements to make or jokes to tell. Member Leonard Hollender can always be counted on for a funny joke.
After the meeting, there is always musical entertainment, or a speaker sharing helpful information for seniors. Last week, Michael Ruff from the Cumberland County Playhouse spoke about all the upcoming events at the Playhouse.
Do you enjoy live music? The community is invited to come to the 127 Senior Center at 1460 S. Main Street in Crossville, for live music every Thursday evening, from 6-8 p.m. Gene Brown and friends always provide some great music of various types including bluegrass, country, and more. There’s dancing, too, and all are welcome!
