Delaware Academy and Central School District at Delhi Superintendent Kelly Zimmerman has been hired to be the new superintendent at the Dansville Central School District effective July 1.
The Dansville Central School District posted a letter from Board of Education President Mary Ann Holden on its Facebook page Wednesday, April 24. The board approved the appointment during its April 23 meeting. According to the resolution Zimmerman will be appointed for the term of July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2027.
According to the letter, “Following a rigorous selection process, Mrs. Zimmerman emerged as the standout candidate to lead Dansville Central Schools into its next chapter of academic excellence and community engagement.”
Zimmerman was hired as D.A.’s superintendent June 15, 2020, a Daily Star archive story said. Prior to being hired at D.A., Zimmerman was an administrator in both the Amherst and Pine Valley Central school districts, including as an elementary school principal, director of curriculum and instruction, director of special education and student services, and assistant director of special education and pupil personnel.
While at D.A., “Zimmerman spearheaded various initiatives aimed at enhancing student learning experiences and improving district operations,” the letter said. “Notable achievements include leading capital projects to advance STEM education, performing arts, and safety measures, as well as implementing the District’s first UPK program and also promoting inclusive playgrounds.”
