MANKATO — Mankato’s Department of Public Safety is encouraging residents to participate in File of Life, a voluntary program designed to enable firefighters, paramedics, and police officers to quickly obtain vital information regarding medical history to support residents’ needs in emergency situations.
Having the information handy allows for a quicker assessment and treatment.
Participants will receive a vinyl folder containing the File of Life form that residents can use to record medical history and other vital emergency information. People can complete the form, insert it in the folder’s pocket and place the folder in a prominent spot on the refrigerator using the attached magnet.
Any resident within the Mankato Department of Public Safety’s call for service area can obtain a File of Life folder and paperwork at the following locations:
Public Safety Center, 710 S. Front Street.
Intergovernmental Center, 10 Civic Center Plaza.
Forms are available to assisted living facilities within the city and are available online at mankatomn.gov.
