VALDOSTA — The Lowndes High School FFA Chapter placed second in the Area 6 Parliamentary Procedure Leadership Development Event held at Berrien County High School on March 21.
The event included 23 chapters in the South Region. Placing second advances the team to the state event, which will be held in April at the Georgia FFA State Convention in Macon.
The Parliamentary Procedure Leadership Development Event is designed to develop leadership skills and teach students how to effectively participate in business meetings. By participating in this LDE, students will be able to demonstrate correct use of the FFA Opening and Closing Ceremonies, demonstrate parliamentary procedure to conduct an orderly, efficient meeting, communicate and participate effectively as a team member, and demonstrate critical thinking and teamwork for effective decision making.
The National FFA Organization is a national youth organization of more than 945,000 student members — all preparing for leadership and careers in the science, business, and technology of agriculture — as part of 9,163 local FFA chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands.
