Over the past three weeks, Sheri Schafer’s Foods and Nutrition classes participated in the 2024 Pork Chopped Tournament.
Each team was given three mystery ingredients, including one cut of pork, and one hour to prepare a meal for three judges. Teams competed for the Class Chopped title, and those winners went on to participate in the final round for the School Pork Chopped Championship.
The class thanks the Illinois Pork Producers for providing a $250 grant to the Family and Consumer Sciences program to help purchase the pork products for the tournament and other Foods lab experiences. The class also thanks the teachers who served as judges for the tournament.
