BLOOMINGTON — Danville’s Nickiya Shields continued her strong start for the season as the Vikings took fourth at the Big 12 Conference Indoor Meet.
Shields won the 60 meter hurdles in 9.28 seconds, the triple jump in 11.18 meters, third in the high jump (1.37m) and was part of the winning 800 relay team with Jhe’Nyi Parker, Da’Sani Lewis and Ashanti Conway that won in 1:47.71.
Ja’Lorrian Stewart was third in the shot put (10.35m), Samantha Brown was fourth in the pole vault (2.72m) and fourth in the triple jump (9.76m), Ramayah Poke was fourth in the long jump (4.73m), Abby Decker was fifth in the long jump (4.69m) and was seventh in the 400 (1:05.98), Conaway was sixth in the 200 (27.41) and Da’Sani Lewis was seventh in the 200 (27.59), Alisa Thomas was sixth in the triple jump (9.54m) and seventh in the high jump (4.59m), Jada Bell was seventh in the shot put (9.59m) and the 1,600 relay team of Decker, Gabriella Huerta, Stephanie Sykes and Presence Reed was sixth (4:36.18).
The Lady Vikings will go to the Gene Armer meet on Saturday.
