COOPERSTOWN — The exhibit “Made in Middlefield, Part I” opened Friday at The Art Garage at 689 Beaver Meadow Road in Cooperstown.
According to a media release from Sydney Waller, director and curator of The Art Garage, a similar opening will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 2.
The group art exhibit features the following 13 local artists working in a range of media including oil and resin, Allison Hill-Edgar; ceramics, Roy Kortick; collage, Darius Homayounpour; digitized paintings, Christine Heller and Lewis Danielski; hand-dyed indigo and stamped textiles, Ada Yonenaka; enigmatic shadow boxes, Dianne Kull; and folk art stitchery, Mary Welch. The group also includes Frank Farmer, mixed media; Merri Hubbell, quilt patterns painted on wood; Martha G. Sharer, mixed media; Molly Welch, concentric circles representing water; and Steve Ziglar, abstract paintings.
The exhibit will be on view through March 30.
Made in Middlefield, Part II, set to open in April, will feature works by Middlefield’s photographers and sculptors.
Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.
