HAHIRA – Valwood upper school students competed at the region Science Olympiad tournament held on Saturday at Georgia Southern University.
Overall, they placed 4th out of 16 teams, both public and private from all over the state of Georgia.
Medalists are:
— Optics, 1st place, Sienna Persaud and Sam Jordan.
— Write It/Do It, 2nd place, Carolyn Griner and Jackson Johnson.
— Forensics, 3rd place, Sophie Keen and Haley Hardy.
— Fermi Questions, 3rd place, Jed Respess and Jack Morris.
— Wind Power, 3rd place, Hailey Weeks and Haley Hardy.
— Anatomy and Physiology, 4th place, Sophie Keen and Hailey Weeks.
— Forestry, 4th place, Sienna Persaud and Sam Jordan.
Other team members are Nicholas Alvarado, Joel Clark, Wesley Clark, Harper Dasher, Hayes Griffin, Jane Hinton, Richard Hunter, Cort Kurrie, Grayson Marasco, Ellyse Persaud, Tyler Sadler, Oscar Shute, and Will Trickett.
