CHAMPLAIN — NCCS’ rifle team fired a record 1148 to outshoot both Beekmantown and Willsboro, to claim its second straight sectional title.
Beekmantown was second with a school record of 1133. Willsboro shot a score of 1037.
The Cougars were led by Holly Visconti, who scored a game high 298, which was both a school and sectional record.
The Eagles were lead by Makayla Gadway who finished with a 288. The Warriors high scorer was Hunter Whalen with a 280.
NCCS now heads to Orchard Park, where they will face off against other sectional winners from across the state. There will be two primary matches in the 3-prone and standing.
Northeastern Clinton will also be joined by both Gdaway and Whalen to make an All-Star team.
NCCS is currently 16-0 on the season with one match left, and claims its second straight ADK league championship. 2nd place Central Square already has two losses.
The Cougars are 32-0 since the program started.
