BEEKMANTOWN — December saw the Eagles cruise to a 30 point win over the Cougars. That would not be the case, Tuesday.
NCCS came out of the gate on fire but just couldn’t get over the hump in the waning minutes to drop to Beekmantown, 51-47.
The Eagles simply hit the buckets when it mattered, making five free throws down the stretch to secure the win.
“NCCS came to play tonight,” Beekmantown’s Ryan Converse said. “They were more aggressive than us from the start.
“They were hot from beyond the three point line, especially in the first half where they hit five threes.”
It looked as if the Eagles woke up in the second half as they started the third on a 13-0 run. But, NCCS wouldn’t go away and slowly whittled the lead back to even take the lead in the fourth.
Beekmantown had three scorers reach double digits. Josh Sand led all scorers with 14 points as Evan Dixon had 11 and Markel Mosley added 10.
Cyle Marshall led NCCS with 13 as Jordan Brown chipped in 12.
“Our guys never gave up and were able to grind out a tough win,” Converse said.
With the win, Beekmantown improves to 13-4 overall and 9-2 in the CVAC. Northeastern Clinton drops to 8-10 and 5-6.

BOQUET VALLEY 38
SETON CATHOLIC 32
PLATTSBURGH — It was a night for both the Griffins and Knights, in which Boquet Valley took home a big win over Seton Catholic.
“I thought this was a great experience for our girls, the game had a great playoff atmosphere,” Knights coach Keagen Briggs said.
It wasn’t just a victory for the Griffins that went well. They also watched Ella Lobdell cross the 1,000 point threshold. Coming into the game she was 12 points away. She finished the night with 18.
Gabriella Conti led Seton Catholic with 14 points. Grace Trombley added 10. Briggs made special note of Monique Allen, who he said played active and aggressive defense the whole night.
While the Knights suffered the loss, they celebrated something bigger than the game.
“We honored our seniors Gabriella Conti and Emma Langlois both of which have been committed and dedicated so much time to this program over their past four years playing varsity basketball,” Briggs said. “Their growth and improvement as players and young adults is what you love to see with players who have been with you for so long.”
Boquet Valley now stands at 12-7 and 8-2 in conference play. Seton Catholic sits at 9-11 overall and 8-4 in the MVAC.

KEENE 35
LAKE PLACID 25
KEENE VALLEY — Before even talking about the game, Keene’s head coach Joshua Whitney wanted to offer a tremendous thank you to Lake Placid’s coach Jeff Potter.
In the Beaver’s 35-25 victory over the Blue Bombers, Lake Placid gave time for an injured Keene senior, who was injured early in the season, to score on her final night at home
“A big thanks to Lake Placid and Coach Potter for accommodating our injured senior on senior night,” Whitney said. “The seniors performed great tonight.”
Kyra Jordon led the Blue Bombers and all scorers with 17 points.
“My three seniors, Avry Lavallee (6), Addison Van Ness (4) and Lily Jones (4) had a nice evening as well, all scoring,” Whitney said. “Avry and Addison played lockdown defense in their final home game to secure the victory.”
Liana Shambo led the Beavers with 10 points. Juliana Tremblay added eight, which included making Keene’s two threes.
“It was a nice evening of camaraderie, fellowship and sportsmanship between our two programs,” Whitney said. “Go Beavers!”
With their regular season over, Keene finished at 6-12 overall and 4-11 in the conference. Lake Placid finished at 5-14 and 4-9. Both teams now prepare for sectionals.
