TIFTON — Tift County soccer teams swept Cook Friday night.
The Blue Devils exploded for three 2nd half goals in defeating Cook, 4-0. Tift’s girls won over the Lady Hornets, 5-1. These were the first wins of the year for Tift, whose boys tied Perry Tuesday, Feb. 6.
Lady Devils leader Sherri Constable said they played a close 1st half with Cook, but put several goals on the scoreboard at the start of the 2nd half.
Abby Goddard did one better than a hat trick with four goals. Amy Deleon had Tift’s other score.

Head coach Bobby Earls said all of his roster got to play in the victory. “And we kept a clean sheet,” he said of Braylon Samuel’s shutout.
“Goal of the year,” said Earls goes to Peña Martinez, a shot he curved in from 30 yards out.
