PETERSBURG, W.Va. — Tucker County overcame a fourth-quarter deficit to defeat No. 5 Petersburg, 54-51, on Saturday night.
The Vikings (11-7) led 22-21 at the half and 38-36 entering the fourth. Macy Helmick sunk a pair of 3-pointers in the decider to help Tucker complete the comeback.
Petersburg was led in scoring by Abby alt with 12 points and Nellie Whetzel with 11. Miley Tingler added eight points, and Sam Colaw and Addison Kitzmiller garnered seven apiece.
Tucker County forwards Raven Matthews and Erika Zirk paced the Mountain Lions with 20 and 11 points, respectively.
Petersburg is at Union on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
