Colleen Mall, center, was presented a Quilt of Valor during the Nov. 7 meeting of the Fairfield Glade Rotary Club. State Sen. Paul Bailey, left, the guest speaker for the meeting, joined in the presentation by Janice Cahill, right. Mall served in the U.S. Army from 1973-2011. She joined the U.S. Army Nurse Corps and served 29 years on active and reserve duty. She served in Germany, Okinawa and in the U.S. Her last assignment was as chief emergency preparedness liaison officer in charge of a joint military services team that managed Department of Defense disaster response resources for the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Mall retired in 2011 at the rank of colonel.
