MANKATO — A house on the 800 block of Southhaven Drive was fully engulfed in flames about 8 p.m. Saturday evening, according to Mankato police dispatch scanner broadcast.
A neighbor had called in to report the fire, and residents of the home were able to get out and were with the neighbor who reported one victim was having difficulty breathing.
Firefighters were on the scene at around 8:13 p.m. and reported there were flames coming through the roof, according to the scanner traffic.
Fire officials had advised dispatch at about 8:24 p.m. to call for a city bus onsite to warm up the firefighters.
