THOMASVILLE- Thomas County Central High School Boys Basketball team held a special wreath competition to foster team bonding and give back to their community. Staff – and some student volunteers – made festive, decorative Christmas wreaths they could donate to a local assisted living home. Judging took place on Tuesday, Dec. 19; the winners’ announcement occurred on the last school day before Winter Break, Thursday, Dec. 21.
First place went to Dr. Bethany Hayes, Jeri Waters and Jennifer Palmer earned second place, and Teresa Williams and her Dual Enrollment students received third place.
The basketball team delivered the wreaths to Southern Pines, a senior living community so that residents could enjoy them for Christmas.
