MANKATO — The identity of a man who was shot in an incident on Dec. 23 has been released.
Jekolby Martin Valentino Craft, 33, of Mankato, received a non-life-threatening injury, according to Mankato police.
Several 911 calls came in around 8 p.m. from individuals reporting they had heard numerous gunshots being fired in a parking lot at Eastport Apartments, east of the Minnesota State University campus.
When police arrived, they discovered evidence of gunshots having been fired.
During the investigation, Craft arrived at the Mayo Clinic Health System emergency room in Mankato for treatment.
Craft was sentenced in November to three years of probation after receiving a stay of adjudication for a felony third-degree drug possession charge that had been filed last spring, according to court records. Successful completion of probation would result in the charge being dismissed.
Police said the shooting case is under investigation and ask anyone with information or who may have witnessed the incident to contact the Mankato Department of Public Safety at 387-8780.
