CLEAR SPRING — Mountain Ridge fell on the first day of the Clear Spring Christmas tournament, stumbling to Heritage, 63-44, on Tuesday.
Heritage, unbeaten at 9-0, had three scorers in double figures led by Noah Poe, who tallied a game-high 21 and buried five 3-pointers. Heritage led 16-6 after the first quarter, 31-16 at the half and 46-34 after three periods.
Sean Mongan and Jackson Cline scored 14 and 10 points, respectively, for Heritage.
Will Patterson led the way for Mountain Ridge (1-4) with 14 points. Eli Sibley ended with eight, Owen Pratt added seven and Cam Breighner notched six.
Mountain Ridge takes on Paw Paw (5-2) at Clear Spring today at 11 a.m.

CLEAR SPRING — Despite a 33-point double-double by Donovan Tanouye, Paw Paw fell to host Clear Spring on Tuesday afternoon.
The Pirates led 15-12, 26-18 and 36-29 after the first three quarters. Charles Barnard, Dillon Albowics and Isaac Gaylor combined for 24 points in the fourth quarter, as the Blazers outscored Paw Paw, 26-18, to come back.
Barnard, listed at 6-foot-8, 260 pounds, scored a team-high 21 points and was 9 of 15 from the line. Gaylor added 15 points, hitting four 3-pointers.
Both teams struggled from the charity stripe. Clear Spring made 17 of 32 from that range, and Paw Paw was 8 for 18.
Tanouye ended with 33 points, 11 rebounds and four assists, and Greyson Corbett added 10 points and seven rebounds.
Paw Paw had three players foul out and two more with four fouls. No Clear Spring player fouled out.
