PEABODY — North Shore Bank recently donated another $25,000 to Citizen’s Inn, the third installment of a four-year, $100,000 commitment from the bank to the charity.
The donation will go toward the Citizens Inn to Opportunity campaign, a $7.4 million fundraising effort launched in 2021 to renovate many of the charity’s spaces and better support its pantry, community meals programs and other resources for those experiencing homelessness or food insecurity.
“North Shore Bank stands as a community leader, making a tangible impact and difference,” Carolina Trujillo, executive director of Citizens Inn, said in a statement. “Their $100,000 investment in our Inn Transition program, dedicated to assisting families in early recovery from addiction, underscores their unwavering commitment to supporting neighbors in need.”
The bank’s donation will directly go toward enhancing the building spaces used by Inn Transition. This program provides families who are in early recovery, often in a transitional sober house environment, comprehensive case management, according to the statement.
The donation will also fund future programming for Inn Transition that focuses on family wellness, addressing complex trauma, building parent-child relationships, supporting early childhood development and children’s enrichment, the statement said.
North Shore Bank CEO Kevin Tierney Sr. said the donation is “an investment in the well-being of our fellow citizens.”
“The services provided by Citizens Inn are so important to our community, and we are always enthusiastic about offering our support,” he said in the statement. “Recovery is about breaking the pattern of instability, and those suffering from substance use disorders deserve a welcoming space to reestablish their self-sufficiency.”
The Citizens Inn to Opportunity campaign runs through Dec. 31. Visit https://inntoopportunity.org/ for more information about the campaign and to donate.
