The Register-News in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, seeks a managing editor to lead the newsroom as it continues to produce local content in both print and online editions. A bachelor's degree with previous newspaper department management experience is preferred. The successful candidate will be fluent in pagination, Web production and social media. Experience with video is a plus.

The Register-News is a six-day-a-week publication (Monday through Saturday) located in the Southern Illinois town of Mt. Vernon, roughly 70 miles east of St. Louis and 70 miles west of Evansville, Ind.
