This small southern daily (Mon, Wed-Fri) seeks an energetic and ambitious leader who, in addition to leading the drive to improve content and coverage, can work with the ad team to drive revenue and growth in the market. Publisher will also serve as editor for the newspaper. Entrepreneurial spirit is a must. Digitally-oriented aptitude is also required.

The ideal candidate must have the ability to work with a team to create new products and dig revenue out of every opportunity; He/she must be willing to work harder than everyone else at the newspaper. Leading by example isn't just a phrase here; it's a way of life.

The candidate will lead a small-but-devoted staff as he/she helps the newspaper and the community grow! Must have at least five years of newspaper management experience, with proof of success in generating revenue, coupled with a firm grasp of business economics. The candidate must be able to demonstrate training and skill in the journalistic arena as well. He/she must be able to interact and interface professionally with clients, civic leaders, and staff. The right candidate must be able to project confidence and leadership ability...internally and in the community.
